Services 2-Wire System Installation

New Construction & Retrofit Installations

2-Wire System Installation

We design and install 2-wire decoder irrigation systems from the ground up on large commercial properties — golf courses, university campuses, corporate parks, HOA communities, and municipal facilities. We also retrofit existing multi-wire systems to 2-wire architecture without replacing all underground infrastructure.

Overview

A properly installed 2-wire decoder system is the most scalable, maintainable irrigation architecture available for large commercial properties. One pair of wires — run as a single path through the property — carries both power and digital addressing signals to every decoder and valve on the system. A 400-zone system requires the same two wires as a 20-zone system.

Our installation team includes licensed Texas irrigators with deep manufacturer certifications across Hunter, Rain Bird, Toro, and Baseline 2-wire platforms. We don't learn on your property — we've done this on hundreds of commercial sites across Texas.

For retrofit projects, we specialize in migrating existing multi-wire systems to 2-wire architecture while preserving as much existing underground infrastructure (valves, heads, laterals) as possible. Many retrofits can be completed in phases to minimize landscape disruption and spread capital cost.

How We Do It

A defined process that produces consistent, documented results on every project.

01

Site Survey & Assessment

We walk the property, assess existing infrastructure, review water supply and pressure data, and identify any site-specific engineering challenges before any design work begins.

02

Hydraulic Design & Zone Layout

Our engineers calculate pressure loss across the system, size distribution pipe, and design zone coverage to meet precipitation rate targets for the specific plant and soil types on the property.

03

Permitting & Coordination

We prepare permit-ready drawings to Texas municipal standards and coordinate with water districts, civil engineers, or general contractors as required for the project.

04

Installation

Field installation by certified 2-wire technicians following manufacturer specs and our own quality checklist. Every decoder is addressed, tested individually, and logged.

05

System Commissioning

Full pressure testing, zone-by-zone coverage verification, controller programming, and flow sensor calibration. We don't hand off until every zone is verified.

06

Documentation & Training

As-built drawings, decoder address maps, programming documentation, and on-site training for your facilities team or property manager.

Common Questions

How long does a commercial 2-wire installation take?

Scope varies significantly by property size and complexity. A typical 100–200 zone commercial installation runs 4–8 weeks. Large golf course or campus installations may run 3–6 months. Retrofit projects are often phased over one or more seasons.

Can I keep my existing valves and sprinkler heads?

In most cases, yes. Retrofit projects typically preserve existing valves, heads, and lateral piping. We replace the control wiring and add decoder modules at each valve. This dramatically reduces cost compared to full system replacement.

What 2-wire platforms do you work with?

We are certified on Hunter ACC2, Rain Bird ESP-LXIVM, Toro Sentinel, and Baseline BC3000. We'll recommend the platform that best fits your property's zone count, feature requirements, and long-term support needs.

Do you pull permits?

Yes. We handle all required permits as part of every installation project. Texas law requires a licensed irrigator to design and oversee commercial irrigation installations, and we are fully licensed and insured.
